2MYLES4AUTISM

I would like to personally invite you to join our 11th Annual 2myles4autism Run/Walk event on Saturday, April 23 at 9:00 am at Meadowbrook Elementary! We have dubbed this event as our "10th Annual Event - On Repeat" (because we had to be virtual last year, we thought we'd recelebrate our 10th annual event). This event, named after my son Myles, helps to raise awareness for autism and to raise funds to support students with autism in the Howard-Suamico School District. Our past 10 events have been a huge success and we are hoping that, with your help, this year’s event will continue to raise much-needed awareness about autism. Did you know that 1 in 44 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder? When we started this event eleven years ago, that number was about 1 in 150!

REGISTER BEFORE 11:59 PM ON SUNDAY, APRIL 3 TO GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL GET A T-SHIRT AT THE EVENT (if you register on April 4 or after, you will still get a t-shirt but it will come after the event - CLICK HERE to see this year's t-shirt design). To register online, CLICK HERE or access a paper registration form - CLICK HERE. Our registration fee is very affordable - $10 per person for all registrants!

For more information about the event, please visit our event website at http://2myles4autism.weebly.com.

With much appreciation,

The 2myles4autism Team

THE GIVING TREE

Did you know The Giving Tree started in April of 2008? Our first location was at the current Bay View in the old concession stand from when the building was a high school. At that time, we only focused on food. Today we support students and families with so much more than just food!

This month we are collecting canned fruit. Please feel free to send donations with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school. Items can also be dropped off during school hours.

ABSENCES

Lineville Intermediate has started to send 10-Day Absence Letters to families. The State allows families to excuse their children from school up to 10 days in a school year. Attendance can be changed at any time with any updated paperwork. If you have any doctor's notes to be turned in, please hand them in or email to: shanpion@hssdschools.org.

Please note this is just to let you know your student is at the 10 days, not that anything will be done at this time. You will be contacted by the teachers, school social worker and counselor if anything is going to happen further. So please do not worry.

Power School Attendance Code Meanings:

EXC - students absence is excused

UNX - students absence is excused, however, exceeds the 10 days

TRU - no one has called in the student for the absence that day
