We will be hosting a community walkthrough for Arrowhead and Methacton families to visit our current school for one final time before we transition to our new school building. We welcome Methacton Community members to come visit Arrowhead on May 25th from 6-8PM. We look forward to seeing current and former students and families for one final walkthrough at Arrowhead.
Arrowhead Kind Project 2022
For the Arrowhead 2022 Kindness Project, our students colored pictures and wrote letters to local nurses for Nurses Week. We sent the letters and pictures, along with some treats (candy and Nothing Bundt Cakes) to our school nurses at Arrowhead, along with nurses at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Lankenau Hospital, and the Cancer Center at Phoenixville Hospital. Thank you nurses for all that you do! See photos below.
The Methacton Education Foundations Presents the Share the Love Campaign
Share the Love with Teachers and Staff
Every day Methacton teachers and staff members go above and beyond for our children. The past year has been a challenging one, but our teachers and staff rose to the challenge for our kids. Now is our chance to SHARE THE LOVE!
SHARE THE LOVE is an opportunity to show Methacton teachers & staff our love, thanks, and gratitude during Teacher Appreciation Month. Recognize your child's current and former teachers with a SHARE THE LOVE certificate and personal message. New this year, custom messages for each certificate!

MSD Backpack Program
The Methacton Backpack program is up and running in each of our buildings and serves district families in need with supplemental food and non-food items. This program helps create food stability for breakfast and lunch when our students are not in school. Weekly, the program sends home a bag of breakfast, lunch, and snack items for the weekend and holiday breaks for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Families who qualify for free/reduced meals are eligible to participate in the Backpack Program. Please contact the school counselor if you would like to register your child for the Backpack program.
In order to continue to sustain the program please consider contributing and donating items to the program. Items can be donated directly to the school or you can place an order through Amazon and ship it directly to our school from the Amazon page.

Just a reminder that students must ride home on the buses that they are assigned. Notes from the parents giving them permission to ride home on another bus is not permissible. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Student Birthdays
Hi Arrowhead families,
For safety reasons, we are not permitting edible birthday treats to be brought into school. We realize that birthdays are special to our students and families. We appreciate your support.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND FAMILIES: Standards Based Report Card
The Methacton School District uses a standards-based grading system for students in grades K-4. This system helps us more accurately measure students’ mastery of PA Core Academic Standards in all subjects. The elementary report cards have been revised to reflect the changes to the state standards and Methacton’s curricula. The goal of this approach to reporting is to provide parents, students, and teachers with a detailed picture of what students know and are able to demonstrate. The information provided on the report card encourages dialogue about areas of strength and need, and how our students can continue to grow academically.
This article, Seven Reasons for Standards-Based Grading, explains more about standards-based grading.
As your child’s teacher explained during our Back-to-School night, I CAN statements have been developed to share with you what skills your child is being assessed on and the expectation of mastery for each trimester. The I CAN statements are listed on our MSD Family Center.
Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.
