Academy of the Arts at Bransom
October 23-27 (School Days 43-47)
A Note From Your Principal
Last week was an active week at school with school pictures, Bobcat Pride Breakfast, BISD Ignite, and Mac & Cheese collection to support our Spartans/Harvest House. I did not even mention the great learning that took place throughout the building that kept everyone busy everyday.
One extra special happening on our campus last week was a WatchDOGS (Dads of Great Students) was on campus. I can't tell you how much our students LOVE WatchDOGS when they go in classes, on the playground and in the cafeteria to interact and encourage our students. Sophia's dad, Mr. Kirkpatrick, was a welcomed guest. Thanks so much! If you want more information about being a WatchDOGS, contact our campus office.
This coming week will be no different in terms of being busy. I hope everyone has already planned for the special outfits for each day of Red Ribbon Week. As you checkout the calendar you'll also see that the Big Kahuna trips to Peter Piper in the Party bus is coming as well as a field trip to Mainstay Farms by first graders. Our PTO is also sponsoring a Spring Creek Night in Burleson Tuesday evening this week as well.
With all the busyness of school, work, and entertainment, we must remember to take time to count our blessings. Healthy families, protective homes, and reliable transportation are things we sometimes take for granted. Children sometimes forget that their technology devices, entertainment systems, and on-demand chauffeurs are not shared in all homes. Being grateful and appreciative for what we have has to be taught. As adults we must take the time to help our children understand how blessed they are.
Last week I shared with your children during our morning assembly (7:25-7:35) a couple of the Essential 55 guidelines that we use to help us all be more respect to others. One particular guideline was about doing Random Acts of Kindness. Seeing you doing random acts of kindness is a great way to show our younger generation that we can make a difference in the lives of other each and every day.
In closing, I want to remind everyone that we are preparing a fun night for all students and their families for next Monday, October 30. This S.M.A.R.T. Night is for folks of all ages - young and old. We will have things in Science, Math, Art, Reading, and Technology to enjoy. Also, don't forget our Relay for Life team will be on hand for a Hot Dog Supper to support the American Cancer Society. Please plan to join us for some or all of the event. (By the way, students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to this event. If you would like to donate candy for this event, please drop your donation off in the office.)
Thanks for your continued support,
Mrs. Burchfield
It's Beginning to Look a Bit Like Fall
Thanks again, Sophia and Mr. Kirkpatrick!
Picture Day
Bobcat Pride Breakfast
We appreciate Mrs. McCrory our counselor who created and continues to coordinate the efforts each 6-weeks grading period. She invites the parents and family members to the Donuts and Juice Breakfast to hear the words from teachers read aloud to honor their children. It is a pretty touching gathering time.
We want to congratulate the first 6-weeks recipients.
Congratulations, Kindergartners!
Don't forget to...
BISD Ignite
Congratulations to these individuals and their families. I would also like to say thank you to Mrs. Modisette for her encouragement and assistance with preparations. She was instrumental in enlisting our interested students in the special program.
