Tacky Reader's Theater

We have been practicing our reader's theater performance all week. Each kiddo has their own part and blocking to memorize. We are hoping to perform for our kinder buddies on Friday. Don't worry, I will be recording it and posting it on our facebook page. Their scripts are in their panda binders, please help them memorize their lines. Thanks!

Announcements Next Week!

Each class takes a turn appearing on the Morning announcements that are telecast throughout our school. Our week is January 25th. Each day, I'll send a few kiddos to represent our class. If you would like to watch the announcements from your home computer, follow these directions:

-open your internet explorer (it will not work on google chrome)

-type in on the address bar

-you may get an error message about the security cerificate, click okay

-this will take you to Denton ISD's video page

-type "Nelson" in the search bar and click on "Nelson Morning announcements"

-there will be 2 choices. Click the one with the green filmstrip next to it.

Please try this out a day or two before to make sure you have the Windows Media Plugin installed and all that good stuff :) There will only be a feed during the live announcements - 7:50-8ish. So if you have a blank screen, that is normal.

If not, no worries, I will take pictures to share on our facebook page too!

Kroger Community Card

During the first semester, we earned over $300.00 and we only had 63 households connected to L.A. Nelson. Do you have your Kroger card connected to Nelson? If so, we will see this on the bottom of your receipt.

Our supporters (63 households) who shopped at Kroger have contributed to your $316.98 total donation. Just imagine if half of our families had their Kroger cards linked to L.A. Nelson PTA. Please double check and make sure your card is registered.

Please take time to register your card and tell your spouses and grandparents.

L.A. Nelson school code is 90039.

Dress for the Weather

Don't forget to check the weather each day and send your child with appropriate attire. We will go outside for recess unless the wind chill and temperature are less than 40 degrees. Also, feel free to send chapstick and lotion for your child to keep in their backpacks. We've had some painful dry lips and hands.

Our class also tends to be on the chilly side. If you would like to send a jacket for them to keep in their cubby full-time, I'm sure they would appreciate it :)
