This Week in LVUSD

Week of December 3, 2018

Our Community, Together

As we welcomed students and families back to school after the extended closure, we were provided an incredible and powerful reminder of the strength of our extraordinary LVUSD community.

...Our teachers and staff utilized trauma-informed teaching practices to build community, resilience, and coping strategies for our students...

...Our students expressed their gratitude through many formats for the first responders who saved our community from further damage/tragedy...

...Our counselors and administrators worked with families who lost their homes to help make the transition back to school as sensitive and as flexible as possible...

...and volunteers in our community continue to selflessly raise money, collect resources, open their restaurants for free meals, and offer their time to help the cleaning efforts.

Our community is an extraordinary example of resilience. Please see the slideshow video below that shows the enthusiasm, smiles, and connectedness that our students felt in their return this past week.
