Open Enrollment 2016-17
Open Enrollment Procedure (Board Policy # 3113 http://goo.gl/jp3s71
The Board recognizes the desire of some parents/guardians to enroll their children in a school which is other than their residence school either within or outside the District. In addition, the Board believes that the needs of neighborhood school students should be considered along with the needs of those requesting the transfer. To the extent possible, the Superintendent or designee will attempt to balance these desires and needs.
Elementary - Feb. 1st of the preceding school year.
Seventh grade- May 15th of the fifth grade year.
Parking
We have been contacted by the owners of the office and apartment complex adjacent to the school. It appears that their private lot is being used as a pick up and drop off area for students. We are asking that you use the school parking lot and/or drop off lane instead of the complex lot.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Just for Kids
ATTENTION KINDERGARTEN AND PRE-KINDERGARTEN PARENTS! Did you know that Horizon has on-site child care for children ages 5-12? We are currently accepting enrollment for Kindergartners, and children who have turned 5 by October 1st, who are looking for care between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm. During our Kindergarten/Pre-School times, JFK focuses on Kindergarten readiness for Pre-Schoolers and assist current Kindergartners by building upon the fundamentals they are learning in school. We have weekly thematic units which assist us in bringing creativity to learning. Children enhance their learning skills through the use of music, dance, stories, dramatic play, and art projects. We us Kindermusik to assist us in becoming more familiar with music theory, and we use Handwriting Without Tears to assist in learning the correct form when producing letters and improving penmanship. The nutrition component of our program stems from Color Me Healthy. Color Me Healthy was developed for kids to help them learn about nutrition, encouraging them to try new foods, and introducing them to areas in which their food comes from. If you are interested, or in need of care, we would love to hear from you! You may contact us anytime between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can find more information, including our rates, on our website at www.boiseschools.org, click on the Parents & Patrons link at the top of the page and then click on the Just For Kids link on the left hand side of the page. You can also stop by or give us a call at 854-5172.
