From the Principal
Yesterday, the middle school promoted our eighth-grade class to Springfield Township High School as the graduating class of 2026. Despite early predictions of rain, the day was beautiful and the ceremony came off without a hitch. If you missed it, you can watch the recorded version of the ceremony at this link.
Chromebooks
Students - including 8th graders - will hold onto their Chromebooks over the summer to facilitate their summer assignments and bring them back to school on the first day of the 2022-2023 school year. Chromebooks will be replaced for every student at the beginning of next year.
From the Free Library of Springfield Township
The Free Library of Springfield Township is gearing up for summer with some exciting activities and promotions. If you are a Springfield Township middle school student (or will be entering the middle school in the Fall), don't miss out on a raffle for a free copy of When Stars Are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed (our One School, One Book summer reading requirement). To be entered to win, register for the Summer Reading program by June 27th. See this flyer for more information.
From the Library
Summer is almost here! All current 6th and 7th grade students who will be returning to STMS in the fall are eligible to check out up to 10 books for the summer from the STMS Library. Students were given permission slips in their ELA classes (click on the link for a digital copy if needed!). Permission slips will be accepted through the end of the school year. If you are unable to complete a permission slip, an email that includes the child's name to Ms. Bloom at erin_bloom@sdst.org from a parent/guardian will also be accepted. Students can check out their books as soon as their slips are returned and until the last day of school. Springfield Township Middle School is excited to host our first One School, One Book program in conjunction with this year's Summer Reading program. As one of their Summer Reading books, students will read the National Book Award finalist, When Stars Are Scattered by our 2022 visiting author, Victoria Jamieson. Please see the attached letter from Mr. Fuller and Ms. Bloom for more information.

Stop by any time between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. for food and fun, with all proceeds supporting the fight against cancer. From doughnut-eating contests to water balloon tosses, from Kan Jam to cornhole, there will be contests and games for all ages, a DJ and dance performances, and fabulous raffle packages. Of course, attendees will have the opportunity to honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost with beautiful luminaria (which can be ordered here, even if you can’t attend).
