The Board approved the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school year calendars. The calendars contain no significant changes to traditional breaks including MEA break, Thanksgiving break, winter break and spring break. Assistant superintendent Jeff Ridlehoover and director of community education Karl Brown provided an update on 2021 summer programming. Brown and Ridlehoover shared an overview of the preliminary plans for a comprehensive summer program that will include academic support, enrichment opportunities and student activities.

Superintendent Chris Lennox and Jason Knighton-Johnson, integration and equity liaison, shared an update on the District Operational Plan's (DOP) goal on equity. Work that was highlighted included the process of forming a district equity committee, next steps and goals of the committee and a review of district policy on equity.

The Board discussed issues and updates related to AMSD and Northeast Metro 916.
