Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter
October 16, 2020
Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders!
Hello Pleasant Valley Families,
We will be using our Distance Learning Schedule next week. And whether we are in Distance Learning or Hybrid Learning, always refer to the Monday Communication from your child's teacher. This is either in Google Classroom or emailed to you or both. This will help your child know what the assignments and Google Meets are for the week. Please refer to the same time schedule that was used for the three weeks at home in the beginning of this year. If you have any questions or are unsure about the exact times, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.
All students need to be logged in at 9:15 am on Tuesday-Friday. Please try to keep a schedule with your child. Even the mundane daily routines and rituals are necessary for them. This includes having a regular bedtime, wake up time, a time before distance learning for breakfast, hygiene, and getting dressed. Providing consistent and predictable structure and routines at home will help them socially and emotionally when engaging in the teaching and learning process at a distance. Expectations for our learners in for Digital Learning are in our graphic below.
I including a helpful survey for you to give to your child to find out their Love Language from the 5 Love Languages from the work of Gary Chapman, Ph.D., and Ross Cambell, M.D., and their book The Five Love Languages of Children. At this time, we really need to give our children all the support and assurance we can. I have used the information obtained from this survey with my own children through the years and found it very helpful.
Please call (440) 885-2380 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm as our office staff will assist if you have any questions. Thank you for your ongoing patience, understanding, flexibility, and support during these challenging times with schooling.
My highest hope for all of the Plesant Valley community stays safe and healthy.
Very Sincerely,
Stephanie Boka, Principal
