A Note From Mrs. Anderson
Our staff has had an amazing few days preparing for the school year! We are eager to see the growth and knowledge gained for every Powell Panther this year!
We hope to see everyone at the Panther Premiere (Meet the Teacher) on Monday! This is a come and go event from 4:30-6:00. Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies to the classroom during this event. If you purchased school supplies at the end of last year, they will be in your child's homeroom class.
Wednesday, August 9th is the first day of school!!! Doors will open at 7:30. Parents are welcome to walk their child to class on the first day. We ask that no more than 2 guests per child enter the building to lessen the crowds in the hallways. There will be an abundance of traffic on the first day of school. Please plan accordingly and bring your patience! We will be dismissing a few minutes early the first few days of school to help with traffic.
After the first day of school, join us at Torchy's from 4:30-8:30 for a Spirit Night!
Below is a video recording of a book I loved to read to my classes on the first day of school! I hope you can share the video with your child(ren) to help get them excited for the first day!

PTO News
Happy Friday Panthers! Your Powell PTO is busy putting on the finishing touches to our 2023-2024 family membership drive. Please be sure to join the Powell Elementary PTO Facebook page to stay up to date on everything your PTO has coming up.
Be sure to stop by and visit our PTO booth at Panther Premier Monday, August 7th to join PTO. Joining PTO not only supports our school financially, but it keeps you in the loop on the fun things we are doing for your Panther, teachers, staff, and school.
Get a head start on the CISD background check for a smooth check-in process at Powell! (https://apps.conroeisd.net/volunteer/) The background check will allow you to enter Powell Campus during our events, volunteer opportunities, and get togethers.
The first few days of school will go by quickly as a courtesy to our teachers we are asking for a few Volunteers to help with the first 3 days of school lunch. We are asking for help from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade parents for Kinder and 1st grade lunches. The kids will be learning a new routine and might be a little distracted if they see family there. Click on the link to our signup genius.

(You do not have to be a PTO member for this volunteer opportunity)
The incentive for joining PTO this year will be a color changing cup and straw with our Powell Panther logo on it. So you can slurp up some of your favorite drink while looking cool!
This year our Fundraising team is partnering up with Mabels Labels to help out our PTO and your Panther. Labeling items such are jackets, shoes, water bottles, and lunchboxes will ensure these items make it back to your panther and not into Lost & Found.
