Neil Armstrong was in two missions they were they Gemini 8 where he had problems trying to minimize the risk of the spacecraft hitting the agena. His other mission was the Apollo 11 mission where he walked on the moon. Apollo 11 launched on July 19,1969. Born 8/5/1930 and died 8/25/2012 at the age of 82.

Apollo 11: This mission was important because The United States was the first country to land on the moon and he was the first person to walk on the moon.
Gemini 8:The main mission Objectives were to perform rendezvous and also four docking tests with the Agena target vehicle and to execute an ExtraVehicular Activity experiment.
