Surrealism

Description and purpose: It is artwork based on the artists dreams. They take things and make them seem fantasized. One way they can do this is by mixing two things that don't mix like a trampoline and a turtle, to make a dream like image.

Op Art

Description and purpose: It makes illusions in a drawing or a painting using color, form, and pattern. For example, they try to make you see a 3D object by placing things in certain ways but really, it is just 2D.

Abstract Expressionism

Description and purpose: It is a painting or drawing not drawing a specific thing. It is trying to make you feel different emotions by using color, shape, and textures.

Pop Art

Description and purpose: Pop art can turn things that are not meant to be artwork into art. They can do this by slightly modifying and everyday object and calling it a work of the art. In paintings/drawing it is almost like comic book art.
