Help us help you make this a SUCCESSFUL school year!!

Dear Parents

Welcome to our E-STEAM news letter. We made it through the first 9 weeks of school and our students are doing great. Because we live in a busy world filled with lots of activities and things to do and we easily forget about our own schedules, let E~STEAM News help you stay informed. This newsletter will be updated weekly with important information and dates on what’s going on at Elolf STEAM Academy.

Second grade getting creative with some great STEAM projects

We read a poem about a misbehaving robot and reviewed elements of poetry. Students then had the opportunity to build their own misbehaving robot and complete writing tasks about their creating.

“Marble Maze”

Marble Maze

We learned about forces and motion in science. Students used what they learned to create a maze with several obstacles for a marble to pass through.

Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.

Judson ISD is thrilled that we have been granted the opportunity to partner with Community Labs to help us get back to school classrooms and buildings safely. Community Labs is a local nonprofit organization that is creating a safe pathway for schools to reopen safely, allowing for in-person learning, for people to return to work, and communities to thrive. This innovative, nonprofit laboratory is changing how traditional COVID-19 testing is currently conducted. The Community Labs screening process uses a PCR test—the FDA gold standard in COVID-19 testing. The actual test is painless and uses a less-invasive method that is 95% effective in detecting asymptomatic silent spreaders of the virus and has a 24-hour turnaround.

Weekly testing for staff and students is completely voluntary. This opportunity is available to both in-person and virtual students. Questions? Contact your campus directly.
