CIMS Weekly Update
Week of January 7, 2024
🌎 Weekly Reflection & Information 🌎
Good afternoon CIMS parents, guardians, and family members. This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update. Happy New Year!
As we return from Winter Break and start the new semester, we'd like to spend some time reflecting on what worked and what didn't and make improvements for the second half of our school year.
Here are a few reminders to get us started:
Attendance: Your student's attendance is vital to school success. If your student is ill, please call our main office by 11am each day. Unexcused absences lead to truancy issues and gaps in instruction.
Missing Assignments: We saw a high percentage of missing assignments during first semester. Each task, assignment, and assessment that is assigned to your student is part of a body of evidence to show your student's current level of progress. Please help us by checking the Infinite Campus Parent Portal regularly and
International Baccalauareate: CIMS is the only IB school with grades 4-8 in all of Pueblo County. Throughout this semester, we'll be featuring important aspects of this program and the benefits of being part of it. Let's start by looking at each of the programs that are offered by the IBO.
- Fountain International Magnet School has the PYP, along with CIMS grades 4-5.
- CIMS has the MYP, along with East High School grades 9-10.
- East High School has the DP in grades 11-12.

Cyclones are hitting the slopes of Monarch on the second Fridays of the months of January, February, March and April. Our first trip is next Friday 1/12. For details on how to reserve your lift tickets, contact Mrs. Richards before Wednesday.
Finally, our choice window for the 2024-25 school year opens on January 15th. If you know any new families interested in attending CIMS, we'll have more information coming.
That concludes our announcements. Have a great evening.
