All screening sessions will be held in the West High library. Once a family submits an application for transfer to the Transfer Office, a list of transfer applicants is sent to Mrs. Siebe every 2-3 weeks. Mrs. Siebe emails each family, so please be sure that the email submitted on the transfer application is correct and that it is an email you check often.
Due to increased enrollment, West High School will be accepting transfers for 50 rising freshmen, 5 rising 10th graders and 5 rising 11th graders.
IB EXAM REGISTRATION!!!!!!
PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL REGISTRATION FORMS ARE SUBMITTED BY 3:30 PM ON NOVEMBER 15. AFTER THIS DATE, NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE ABLE TO BE MADE REGARDING EXAM FEES.

YEAR 1: We are finishing Bloodroot this month and will begin The Serpent King soon after. Please have a copy of the book by the end of the month (author is Jeff Zentner). Also, even though the due date for the IOP is listed as December 5, please be advised that this is the END DATE. Students are aware of their presentation date; these can be found on Canvas (under announcements), and poster-sized copies are posted in the classroom.

YEAR 1: The IOP is the IB assessment for this semester. In order to receive 5 extra points for the class at the end of the year, students must complete the course assessments.

PSYCHOLOGY
TEST: CATB (Cognitive Approach to Behavior) test was pushed back to Nov. 9th and Nov. 14th. Be sure to ask your child about that exam.
NEWS:
Up next after the CATB test will be their IA (Internal Assessment). They have to replicate an experiment and then write a paper based on their results. It is 25% of their IB grade, so it's a huge part of the class. It will be due right before winter break.

Formal Lab Report: Classification of Substances (Chemical Bonding Lab) was due Nov 13.

READINGS: Students need to list all the plays they have seen (that they remember). They need to read at least 4-6 plays by Nov 6th. Our library, Ms. Nelson and myself have plays that may be checked out. There are also several play scripts on Canvas in a file.
NEWS:
Students are beginning to work on the next assessment, which is the Director's Notebook. Drafts are due the second week of December. I will give feedback. Final copies are due on Jan 8, 2019.
