Updates from Instructional Technology
November Updates
We are in the process of ordering Lightning to VGA adapters for use in the classroom. These adapters will allow teachers and students to present videos and other multimedia presentations on a projector rather than using AirPlay.
The adaptors will be available for checkout on a weekly basis from Cameron Bain. More details to come!
Tech Tips of the Month
Eduphoria Aware Online Testing
Tired of grading an endless amount of papers?! Have your students complete online assessments using the Aware module in Eduphoria. Here's how!
Remind (formerly Remind101)
Need to safely communicate with your students and parents? Use the Remind app and/or website for 1 way text messaging and/or emailing.
SafeShare.TV
Need to show your students a YouTube video but don't want the advertisements and "related" videos that are usually about cats doing funny things? Use SafeShare.TV to get rid of that! Simply copy the link of a YouTube video and paste it into SafeShare.TV!
Around the District...
Randolph Elementary School
Mrs. Tarango's 5th Grade Science class used Kahoot! to complete a formative assessment on their iPads. It was great to see how how engaged her class was while using Kahoot!
Randolph Middle School
Ms. White's 7th grade English Language Arts classes had the choice to use the Adobe Illustrator Draw app or the iPad Notes app on their iPads to create a visual representation of their fictional short story.
Randolph High School
Mrs. Mines' Geometry classes recently completed a scavenger hunt in which students were placed into groups, given a list of geometric terms, and then had to find the terms around the school.
Once the terms were found, students uploaded pictures of the terms to a shared OneNote Class Notebook where they then annotated their pictures to illustrate the term in the picture.
