Principal's Message
Good Morning Hays High School Parents and Students!
We made it to the final week of school for the 2022-2023 school year! Let’s finish strong next week and have a restful summer. When we started school in August of 2021, there were so many unknowns, we were not exactly sure what the school year would look like. Despite some ups and downs, we had a very successful year! Our End-of-course scores from spring 2022 were solid, our attendance has been up the last 9 weeks of school and our kids are finishing the year with lots of smiles and great attitudes. We are proud of our Hays Hawks and we wish you and your families a very safe and happy summer.
If your student is attending summer school, here is a ink with all the information you need to know https://www.hayscisd.net/summerschool
Our office hours starting the week of May 31 are Monday-Thursdays 7:30am-3:30pm. We are open to serve our families all summer long, if you need anything please call us at (512) 268-2911.
Thank you.

Possible Change to HHS Schedule for 2022-2023 School Year
Hello HHS students and parents:
We wanted to update you on possible changes to our schedule for 22-23. Our plan is to keep a Monday-Thursday block schedule (4 classes per day), and a traditional 1-8 schedule on Fridays. This schedule will allow us to better align with our collegiate partnerships (ACC dual credit, etc.) and will offer more schedule consistency for our students.
New for 22-23 will be our Hawk Time course offering. Building on the Advisory courses offered this year, Hawk Time will be a period for extension, intervention, studying, and social-emotional learning. Students that are in double-blocked courses (UIL/competition) or are in need of specific interventions will be placed in corresponding Hawk Time courses. All other students will be placed in a Hawk Time course corresponding to their grade level and will be given numerous opportunities throughout the year to select new Hawk Time teachers (based on their specific needs and interests).
If your student will not need a specialized Hawk Time and would rather add an additional course (in lieu of Hawk Time support), please complete this google form. Counselors are available to answer any questions, and will reach out to you if any additional information is needed.
