Jacks Tribe

Jacks tribe shows an savagery type of government because Jack helps to create chaos by urging the boys away from their jobs that Ralph assigns. In the chapter “Painted Faces and Long Hair,” Jack is able to get the boys to let the fire go out to hunt a pig through his use of propaganda, such as having fun, hunting pigs, having feasts, and being able to have their own fort. The instant that Jack sees his chance to become a leader over the rest of the group, he acts as quickly as he can, setting up his own tribe at the other end of the island. A quote that represents Jacks anarchy is when they are arguing about a chief. Jack says " I ought to be chief,"said jack with simple arrogance, "because im chapter chorister and head boy. I can sing C sharp" ( Chapter 1)

Democracy is a system of government in which all the people of a state or polity are involved in making decisions about its affairs, typically by voting to elect representatives to a parliament or similar assembly.

Ralphs Tribe

Ralph's tribe is demonstrated by a democracy because he allows anyone to speak. With the situation they are in Ralph knows that he cant find survival by himself so he is open to anyone's opinion. Ralph had stopped smiling and was pointing into the lagoon, Something creamy lay among the ferny weeds. "A stone." "no a shell". This quote relates to democracy because in a democracy anyone is allowed to speak. the conch gave the kids power to whoever was holding it to allow them to speak.

My Island Society

I would want to have a stricter type of government for my Island, to ensure that the society gets along. I would have a poll in order to see who would become leader. Then we would vote on subgroups such as builders, Hunter/gatherers, and fire builders.

My Island Constitution

  1. No fighting allowed on the Island.
  2. No violence or crimes.
  3. Listen to your leader.
  4. Everyone helps in there assigned subgroups.
  5. Have to be back in the shelters before dark.
  6. Don't let the fire go out.
  7. Split the food equally.
  8. Share and get along with each other.
  9. No savages.
  10. Opinions are allowed.
  11. Right to speak

If anyone disobeys or breaks these rules they will be punished by not being allowed to eat that night and they will have to do double the work the next day.

Historical Example Of In-Fighting

The Syrian Civil War also, also known as the Syrian Uprising, is an ongoing armed conflict taking place in Syria. The unrest began in the early spring of 2011 within the context of Arab spring protests, with nationwide protests against President Bashar al-Assad's government, whose forces responded with violent crackdowns. The conflict gradually morphed from prominent protests to an armed rebellion after months of military sieges

I feel this quote relates really similarly to the book Lord of The Flies. The first part of the quote says love snatched in the face of danger. When the kids see the beast they all stay together so that the little kids feel safer and loved. the second part of the quote is saying that excitement leads to death basically/. This relates to the book because the kids were happy that they got a pig and they started reenacting it and the kid that acted like the pig almost got killed.

Political Conflict

A current political event that is occurring is Isis fighting with 50 other nations. Isis is mad at what the Us did to their leader so in return they are beheading US, Britain and other hostages that they have captured and making videos of them doing it and releasing them online. They are trying to get us to go to war with them . Their not trying to solve the conflict really there just making the situation worse for themselves. Their strengths are that they are trained fighters. they were trained from soldiers then they went and joined Isis. They know are tactics and they know guerrilla warfare so we have to approach slowly. Their Weaknesses are that they don't have all of the protection and artillery that we have.
