What We Are Learning
READING
2.10 Reading/Comprehension of Literary Text/Literary Nonfiction. Students understand, make inferences and draw conclusions about the varied structural patterns and features of literary nonfiction and respond by providing evidence from text to support their understanding.
2.10A Students will distinguish between fiction and nonfiction.
SCIENCE
2.5D Students will combine materials that when put together can do things that they cannot do by themselves such as building a tower or a bridge and justify the selection of those materials based on their physical properties.
2.5C Students will demonstrate that things can be done to materials such as cutting, folding, sanding, and melting to change their physical properties.
2.5A Students will classify matter by physical properties, including relative temperature, texture, flexibility, and whether material is a solid or liquid.
MATH
4A Students will recall basic facts to add and subtract within 20 with automaticity.
WRITING
17B Students will develop drafts by sequencing ideas through writing sentences.
17C Students will revise drafts by adding or deleting words, phrases, or sentences.
17D Students will edit drafts for grammar, punctuation, and spelling using a teacher-developed rubric.
17A Students will plan a first draft by generating ideas for writing (ex. Drawing, sharing ideas, listing key ideas).
