Math
In Math, we will begin our unit on Multiplication.
We will start by determining products of a number of 10 or 100 using properties of operations and place value understanding. We will use this to estimate products.
Example:
20 x 6
2 x 6=12
add back the zero
20 x 6=120
Please make sure your child is practicing their multiplication fact fluency each night!
Science & Social Studies
In Science, we will be comparing and contrasting mixtures and solutions. This is COOL stuff!!!!
Reading & Writing
Oh little one, oh so small,
One day you will grow to be big and tall.
I watch you while you laugh and play,
My love for you grows each and every day.
I tell you this with my whole and open heart,
My love for you runs off the chart!
POETRY ROCKS! We are learning about how poets convey meaning through the use of sensory imagery, similes, metaphors, alliteration, and more!
We are also continuing to work on being able to identify the subject and predicate of a sentence. It's harder than you think, but we're making progress! Ask your kiddo if they can show you how they know when the subject of a sentence stops, and the predicate begins. Here's a hint... look for the verb!!
With so much to learn, you can support your child by reading 30 minutes every night with them.
***** IMPORTANT INFORMATION****

Limit transportation changes.
Utilize our voice mail system and leave a detailed message regarding the change. We MUST have: student name, teacher name, destination physical address, and a return phone number for any questions.
- The office will not return calls to verify we got the voice mail.
Thanks in advance for your help in providing safe and effective transportation for your child.
