Regional School District No. 6
June 15, 2017
As the 2016-2017 school year comes to a close, I want to take the time to thank you for the support and encouragement you have given us as we have transitioned this year to teaching all of our students within a multiage environment. We recently received the results of the 2017 Parent Survey, and you gave us very high marks on almost every statement. We also significantly improved (by 14 percentage points) on the statement that we included in our school improvement plan: “My child is challenged to meet high expectations at this school.”
We have seen so much social growth as well as academic growth this year. Younger students have been motivated by their exposure to older peers and challenging curriculum, while older students have become natural role models and leaders of their own learning. We are looking forward to seeing this evolution continue as the roles are reversed next year. Our younger students will assume new responsibilities as the olders within their classroom, while the older students in each class will move on to new friends and more challenging experiences as the youngers in their new classrooms.
Best wishes to our sixth grade students as they prepare to leave Warren School and head to middle school. Their Moving Up ceremony will take place on Monday, June 19th, at 6:30 PM.
I hope that you all have a wonderful summer full of exciting adventures as well as peaceful and relaxing days. Please encourage your children to read and enjoy the math activities that were sent home earlier this week. An electronic version can be found below this message.

Summer Garden Maintenance
Warren students are readying the beds, and will be sowing seeds and transplanting plants into Harvest of Dreams for it’s 16th growing season!
Through sustainable, organic practices the garden brings life-long, authentic learning into the lives of our students who work hard to collaboratively bring the garden to life. Warren School is very proud of its Harvest of Dreams garden. Since 2002, students, families and staff have worked together to create a garden for students to explore curriculum objectives and environmental stewardship.Throughout the summer, the delicious, nutritious produce is enjoyed by those in need at area soup kitchens and food banks and by families maintaining the garden. Upon arrival back to school in the fall, students enjoy the freshly picked produce and the Warren community is invited to join us at our Harvest Luncheon to enjoy the dishes each class freshly prepared. .
The outreach, celebrations, and success of the garden would not be possible without families helping to maintain it over the summer.
As in the past, we are seeking families to sign-up for one week. (Consider sharing the week with another family!) If your family is able to help, please fill out this form.
