14th Amendment

This Amendment was ratified on july 9th 1868. This amendment hepled to give citizenship to people who were naturally born in the United States or naturalized. This also included the former slaves that were recently slaves. This amendment also stops states from denying any person "Life,"Liberty or property" wtihout any due process or law. This amendment helped to expand protection of civil rights of all of the Americans. This amendment hepled to form Due process as well.

  • The senate approved the amendment by a vote that was 33 to 11.
  • This amendment has generated more lawsuits than any other provision of the united states.
  • This law helped form the Freedom of Speech.
