PENNY WARS
The Penny Wars competition was fun last week. Thank you to everyone who donated or transported the coins to SchoolsFirst to determine which grade level is coming in first. We will announce the winning grade level on Monday morning during our rally.
K12 INSIGHT SURVEY
Chino Valley Unified School District published the K-12 Insight Survey on January 9th. If you cannot find the email you received, there is a link below and on our school website. We are currently at 59 completed surveys, 24% of the goal.
The data from the survey is used to evaluate a school's needs. Please help Eagle Canyon by completing the survey. The School Site Council, the English Language Advisory Council, and School Staff review the results to develop a needs assessment to continue to improve our campus. I will send weekly reminders to encourage a high percentage of participation. We have approximately 500 families at Eagle Canyon.
TARDY STUDENTS
As a reminder, students can go to the amphitheater or eat breakfast in the MPR at 7:20 am. Students who arrive after 7:50 am are considered tardy. Please plan to arrive early to avoid missing out on daily instruction. Traffic from 7:35 - 7:45 am is pretty light, so you may want to try to come around this time.
Last week, we had 221 tardies, the most we have had in the previous month. For the next four weeks, I will track the number of tardies by classroom and recognize classes that demonstrate an improvement in the number of tardies.

Core Essential February - Respect Each month, Eagle Canyon classrooms focus on a Core Essential for the month. Students will have an opportunity to earn a monthly Core Essential award for their classroom. Mr. Armstrong, Eagle Canyon's Counselor, works with small groups of students to provide Tier II and Tier III counseling with a curriculum focused on supporting our students' social-emotional health.
