Getting Ready for School - We're Digging In to Learning
Anderson Families:
The countdown is on! We will soon be welcoming our 2020-2021 Anderson Foxes - either here at Anderson or digitally. The staff has been busy preparing for this big day - it has been much too long since we’ve seen our students!
I have a few updates for both in-person and remote students. Please read the information below and reach out if you have any questions.
Even though we can not have a "normal" Supply Drop Off and Open House event we are making plans for all of our parents and students to meet their teachers and see their classrooms before school starts. Teachers will be sending home videos for the students in their classrooms. Teachers will introduce themselves and share information that students might want to know and give a quick video tour of the classroom.
The district and our staff are busy creating videos to show students what the expectations are for when they are in school. These will be shared prior to the first day of school.
Reminder: Please make sure your child is prepared for in-person learning by ensuring that he or she has an approved mask. You can access the D303 Mask Requirements for details regarding what they can wear. We are all adjusting to wearing a mask, so let's practice and be prepared. I can't wait to show off my fun, silly, happy and goofy masks! :)
As always, thank you for your continued support as we partner together to help your child learn and grow.

School Supply Drop Off for In Person Learning Students
Who?
All 1st-5th Grade In-Person Learning Students.
Monday, August 17th from 12:00-4:00 PM
What?
School Supply "Drop Off Drive-Through", where all families can drive through our bus lanes in the back of the school and drop off their student's school supplies. Please put all of their supplies in some type of plastic bag with their name on it. We will collect them, keep them organized by grade, and deliver them to their individual classrooms. (You could use a garbage bag, and staple a piece of paper with their name on it.) Just like in the spring, when we had material pick up, we will work hard to make this Supply Drop Off Drive Through is fun and full of "Back to School Energy".
Where?
Simply pull to the back of the school and drive through the bus lanes. Staff will greet you and collect your child's bag of school supplies.
Why?
This will allow all of your students' materials to be waiting for them in their classroom. Teachers can collect and organize materials before the first day of school.
Kindergarten Supply Drop Off, Meet-n-Greet, and Virtual Open House
Virtual Meet-n-Greet and Teacher Welcome Videos!
In addition, each teacher is also making a Welcome Video where they will introduce themselves to their new students and families as well as give a simple tour of the classroom.
Keep a lookout in your inbox for the invitation and video coming soon.
Remote Learning Students Material Pick Up:
For our remote students (K-5th), we will have a materials pick up scheduled on Tuesday, August 18th from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Families can simply drive to the back of the school and pull through the bus lanes. Students will receive any materials they will need for at-home learning, including a device (iPad or Chromebook) if they did not get one last spring.
Incoming 2nd Grade Remote Learning Students need to Drop Off their iPad and collect a Chromebook. This will take place at the Remote Learning Student Material Pick up on Tuesday, August 18th from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
We are busy creating packets of materials that are specific to each grade level. They will include things like; Math Workbooks, Handwriting books, Manipulatives...
It is very important to have every Remote Learning family come to this Material Pick up so your child has all the needed materials.
Go mark your calendar right now! Tue, Aug. 18th from 1:00-3:00 for all Remote Learning Students K-5th Grade.

News from the Nurse
Health Office update:
Please send an extra set of clothing (shirt, pants, underwear, socks) in a Ziplock bag, labeled with your child's name, to school on the first day. This bag will be stored in the classroom to be used in case of accidents or spills. If a student does not have an extra set of clothes to change into when necessary, parents will be called to come to school to provide them. Thank you for your understanding.
