There are many ways to map and articulate the learning and instructional intentions of our programs. There isn't a specific way to address the issue of mapping the sophisticated learning that students engage within our programs, but here are some examples, that I have lead or collaborated within, that provide great promise for advancing art education in our schools.
Minnetonka UbD Art Curriculum Mapping
This initial step in identifying priorities for art curriculum is an important first step in helping others art. It is also key in helping us to be specific in making decisions about what to prioritize in our instruction and assessment.

This is a great resource for developing focused skill-based and technique-based curricular decisions.
Northfield K-12 Schools Art Curriculum
Though this set of curriculum maps is almost a decade old, it still can be a great example for mapping out the complex work of arts education into tangible language that advances arts education in the realm of curriculum and assessment.
