Time: 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Topic: Has the United States lived up to its pledge of “liberty and justice for all”? Would requiring the study of diversity, equity, and inclusion in a high school setting help ensure liberty and justice for all?

Eligible to apply: All high school students, male and female, public, private, exchange students or home schooled in California. This year we are expanding to neighboring areas that do not have a branch that is offering a speech contest. California high school students, who are able to come to our location for the contest, are encouraged to apply. They will be referred to the appropriate branch if there is one closer to them offering the contest.
Prizes: The winners from the Diamond Bar/Walnut AAUW branch will receive a cash prize.
First Place will be $300, Second Place $200 and Third Place $100. In addition, the prize for first place, at the California state level, has been $1500 in the past.
