Ocean food web
Ocean food web
My food web is the ocean food web it was several levels of living organisms. The primary consumers are the shrimp, copepods, and pteropods. The secondary consumers are the lantern fish, the amphipods, and ocean sunfish. The tertiary consumers are the squid and mackerel. The top predators are the smaller sharks, the Marlin, and the larger shark. The producers are diatoms, dinoflagellates, and kelp. The decomposers are bacteria and algae.
Commensalism
The clown fish gets to live in the anemone and the anemone gets to feed off of the clown fish waste.
Mutualism
the shrimp feed off of the the fish and clean the fish's mouth and the fish gets to start the day with a clean mouth.
Parasitism
The isopod eats the hosts tongue and then it gets the first bite of the fish's food.
How humans are impacting the environment
Humans are impacting the environment in many ways. One example is intense fishing, it is altering the oceans environment greatly and having a huge toll on certain habitats. Another example us pollution from ships crossing through the ocean.
Humans aren't only destroying the ocean environment they are also helping them. One way they are helping is by making artificial reefs for fish to congregate live.
Shark
The shark plays a huge roll in my food web. It is the top consumer/predator so it can pretty much eat anything that goes in its path. It's main diet is smaller sharks and Marlins.
Amphipods
Another impactful animal is the amphipod. They give energy to several different animals. Such as the lantern fish, tuna, and lancet fish. If this fish didn't exist it would have a huge impact on the ocean food web. They are a tertiary consumer and they eat the copepods.
Algae
Algae plays a huge rol in the food web. It fuels the shrimp which fuel a lot of animals. Such as the lantern fish and copepods. Algae is a producer.
