Immigration to Texas

Czech

About the Country

The first immigrant from Czech came in early 1852. The Czech immigrated to Texas for many reasons, such as overpopulation, failure of 1848, high taxes, to escape war, WW11, and political problems. The Czech settled in New Ulm, Nelsonville, and Austin County. They settled 1851-1920. Significant people to the Czech immigration were Antonin Dvorak, Leos Janacek, Josef B., and Anthony Dignowity.
