Thank you PinnacleART!

Carter Lomax students and librarian Mrs. Muirhead send a HUGE thank you to PinnacleART and Michael Lurie! Mr. Lurie organized a fundraiser to purchase books for our library. He came over this week with books and a $500 gift card to purchase more books for our students. We are so thankful for this very kind gift!

Cognitive Skill Practice

In the Connect program, students practice developing important cognitive skills by completing their projects. One of these cognitive skills is oral presentation. Students in Mr. Garza's science class prepared to present their Science Lab Safety Project to their class by working on the skill of oral presentation.

Parent Connect

You should have received an email from Summit Learning inviting you to login to the platform and see your student's information. Having your own Parent Connect account allows you to view your child's goals for the week, current grades, and dues dates for Focus Areas, Projects, and Concept Units.

When you receive the email from Summit Learning, you will only need to follow the link, watch the video, and create your own password for the account. If you do not receive an email, contact your child's homeroom teacher.

Summit Overview

Many parents have asked for more information about navigating through the Summit learning website. Below is a link to a brief overview to help you. It’s not everything, but will hopefully give you a better understanding. Open House will be a great time to dive into the platform with your student and learn more about our Connect Program.

Thank you Ms. Castaneda for creating this overview!

Adopt-a-Colt Mentor Program

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in a young child’s life? Well now is your opportunity. On our campus we have the ADOPT-A-COLT Mentor Program. The mentor program is designed to pair a youth on our campus with a positive adult role model who can guide them through their middle school years. This is a great opportunity for stay at home moms or dads! If you or someone you know is interested, we will have a mentor information meeting on Thursday, September 27th, at 9:00 am in the library. Please RSVP to the counseling department if you will attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
