Weekly Newsletter
Hello Wildcat parents/guardians,
This week, I am so excited and honored to shine the spotlight on our El Camino School Nutrition Services Team!
The lead for this awesome team is Ms. Shauna Haley (Nutrition Services Lead II). Thanks to our awesome cafeteria staff and all they do to make sure our Wildcats are fed and ready to learn. They work hard to ensure cafeteria lines and carts are ready to go for breakfast, snack and lunch.
Many of our Nutrition Services team members worked tirelessly to ensure our students had meals even when our school buildings were closed for virtual learning at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since returning to full in-person learning, this team has picked right up. We truly appreciate their dedication and hard work.
Our Nutrition Services team is definitely more than just food service employees. They build relationships with our staff and students, and, when they notice a student in need, they provide nourishment for their body and soul. Thanks for all you do!!
AP Registration & Payment Deadline - TODAY!! Oct. 31st
PARENTS/GUARDIANS - We need your input!
Accreditation is a collaborative self-reflection and evaluation of all aspects of the school’s program and its impact on student learning and well-being based on the WASC research-based criteria. Furthermore, accreditation is a certification to the public that the school is a trustworthy institution of learning and well-being that is committed to continuous improvement.
On Sunday, November 14th from 3:30 - 5:00 pm, the WASC Visiting Committee would like to meet virtually (you can login from home) with ECHS parents/guardians in order to get your input and perspective regarding your child's education here at El Camino. We need approximately 25-30 parents to be a part of this committee. If you can please give an hour and a half of your time on Sunday the 14th, we would greatly appreciate it. This will be on a first come, first serve basis for the first 30 parents who register using this link - WASC Parent Mtg Registration Form. The form will close once the first 30 parents sign up and a link will be emailed to those who registered prior to the meeting.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Language Acquisition Program for High School
The Language Acquisition Resource Center (LARC) at San Diego State University (SDSU) is hosting tuition-free, year-round Startalk programs in Chinese, Persian, and Russian for students in Grades 9-11 with no prior knowledge of these languages. This is a unique opportunity for all San Diego County high school students who wish to boost their academic and career prospects by gaining an invaluable skill through culturally authentic, meaningful, and cognitively engaging world language instruction. The program is offered free of cost to students and their families. In addition, at the end of the program, students qualify for undergraduate college credit.
LARC Startalk program is hosting 40-minute online information session for students and parents on Tuesday, November 9 at 5:00 pm.
You can register for the sessions, as well as learn more about the program on our website at https://larc.sdsu.edu/startalk-student-program-2022-2023/, where students can apply for the program until December 3, 2021.
