Welcome to Third Grade!
November 2022
Hello Third Grade Families!
Upcoming Dates to Remember:
Thursday, December 1- Field trip to Catawba Science Center
Wednesday, December 7- Progress Reports
Tuesday, December 13- Annual Sing-a-long
Friday, Dec. 16- Early Dismissal
We are so excited about our upcoming field trip! Thank you to those parents who went ahead and sent in the permission form. We have lots of parents going, and we are excited to spend our day learning together!
We encourage all students to pack a paper bag lunch (everything disposable). That will make clean up much faster and easier!
Parents who are attending the field trip, please be sure to arrive to the Science Center before us, so you can get your tickets and be ready to go when we get there. Our day is packed with lots of fun activities, so we will have to stick to a tight schedule. Our third graders will attend a matter class in the morning, so while they are learning more about matter, you can do some kid-free exploring! We will all get to visit the planetarium. After those activities, we will eat lunch and have a little bit of time for exploring before heading home. Parents, if you would like to keep your child with you instead of sending them back to school on the bus, just make sure you see me to sign them out. If you wish, you can spend more time exploring the Science Center after we leave!
Helpful Daily Reminders:
* Please send one healthy snack and a water bottle each day. Students are allowed to eat their snack whenever they feel hungry.
* We play outside every day, weather permitting. For that reason, sneakers are always the best shoe choice for school.
* We like to keep the air in the classroom cool and moving, so you might want to send a jacket to school each day!
* Be sure to check your child's green folder each night for homework and to check for any notes or papers that have been sent home.
This week we are learning...
RL.2
I can identify the important details and main ideas in a fiction text.

Science

A Homework Reminder sheet can be found in your student's green folder they will bring home each day. Please sign the paper to let me know that homework was completed.
If you need help with school supplies, please let me know!
