Another egg-cellent, egg-citing and egg-hilarating week at Claires Court! Reception took a trip to Mr and Mrs McArdle’s farm to learn about eggs. The girls saw how the egg belt works, they saw over 6000 chickens (!) and also learned that these eggs are delivered to the Ritz amongst other customers!

The weather has not been good this week for going out with clipboards and hunting for mini beasts in the garden which we had planned to help the nursery children with their observation skills and number work but we will try to do this next week.

Summer Fete - Saturday 25 June

This year the theme of our fete is 'The Great Outdoors', a theme inspired by the allotment and bushcraft projects the PTA have recently supported.

If you, or anyone you know, would like to take a stall at this year’s event please contact me at We are also looking for a number of raffle prizes. If you are able to contribute something please contact me at the same address. Your support, as always, is much appreciated.

On Saturday 25 June, as part of our celebration of the great outdoors, we are being visited by the Great Gun Dog Company and their wonderful dogs.

They will be giving demonstrations on how to handle and train the dogs. Pupils (aged 3 to 12) who wish to learn how to 'work' the dogs are then invited to practice the commands that they see in the demonstration.

After the event, two or three children will be selected and given certificates as finalists and will have the opportunity to progress to the ISA Gundog Challenge national final at the Midland Game Fair on the 17th September 2016. All finalists, along with parents, will receive free passes to the weekend event. More information

There is also an opportunity for pupils to take part in a poster competition. All they have to do is download the template– get creative and draw their dream playground and bring the final poster to the fete. The best winning entry for the poster design will win a £20 Amazon voucher.

Memorabilia from the 2015-16 season for a Reading Football Club fan.

A match day programme from Saturday 9 April 2016, signed by the players on the day, together with a certificate of authenticity and a 'crib sheet' for which signature is which. In addition, we also have a signed photograph of their Fullback, Chris Gunter, currently playing in the Welsh team at the European championships.

Please email with your best offer by close of business Wednesday 27 June and we'll announce whether we have sold the item on next week's bulletin (no names!). All proceeds to the PTA charity.
