Announcements for November 19th and 20th, 2018
Thank You: Thank you to everyone that helped out with carpool and other duties this past week in the absence of staff and safety patrol students. We couldn't have done it without your help.
PTA Meeting: The November PTA Meeting will be in the Media Center on Tuesday, November 20 beginning at 8:15. Please send your team rep to the meeting.
NCTIES: Congratulations to Jaymie Boose and 5th grade team for being accepted to present in March. Topic for the presentation is titled Engaging Literacy Practices for Authentic Audiences.
Holiday: This Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday school will be closed to observe Thanksgiving. Please prepare your room by: getting rid of all food stuffs, turning off computers, and closing your blinds. We hope that you enjoy time off from work and are able to spend time with family and loved ones. Be safe if you travel, and know we are THANKFUL for our PUE family.
United Way Campaign: The United Way Campaign continues underway for WCPSS employees. You should have received an email with a pledge link from Superintendent Cathy Moore week before last. The campaign runs from November 7th through December 12th. If you pledge to United Way through your personal link (see the email sent by Superintendent Moore) you will be automatically entered into a drawing each week for prizes such as Hurricanes tickets, various gift cards, and other prizes. Please help WCPSS help United Way through your support.
Early Release: This Tuesday is an early release day. Please see the schedule sent out last week. We will have lunch after students dismiss in the cafeteria provided by 3rd grade parents. Sarah and Ben will be providing a workshop on Kyte after our lunch. Being your laptops for the workshop. We look forward to our time together.
Half Day Planning Days: Kaye and I have looked at available finances for half-day planning. It looks like we can swing financing subs needed for the purpose of TWO half-day planning days (Planning for quarters 3 and 4), Literacy assessment days in the spring, and a limited number of NCTIES attendees, also in the Spring. Miscellaneous subs needed non-Wake County paid resources will be handled on a case by case basis. Please coordinate, as you have in the past with grade levels K/1, 2/3, 4/5, SpEd, Specialists. 3rd Quarter planning will need to be done soon as it is VERY difficult to get subs the closer we get to the holidays. Remember that it is up to you to coordinate getting your sub as we don't have enough staff to cover if you don't get a sub.
