OSMOSIS IN RED ONIONS CELLS
WHY CAN'T WE DRINK SALAD WATER
WHAT IS OSMOSIS
Osmosis is the diffusion of the movement of water from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration through a cell membrane or other semi-permeable membrane until an equilibrium is reached
WHAT WE NEED
We need a red onion, a microscope, some salad water and some distilled water to do this experiment.
MATERIALS AND PROCEDURE
STEPS
First, we extract a sheet from the red onion and we spill dye over it.
•Then, we put it in the microscope.
•After that, we spill salad water over it. We see that the cells become smaller.
•We spill distilled water and we see that the cells become bigger.
CELLS IN SALAD WATER
THE WATER GOES OUT THE SALAD TO IGUALATE THE CONCENTRATIONS
CELLS IN DISTILLED WATER
THE WATER TRY TO GO IN THE CELL
