Updates From Student Council President, Peter Sanders
Are you ready for some finals? The semester’s end is drawing near, and that means finals are right around the corner. The high school parents and staff, along with the high school Student Council, are providing a few opportunities to brighten the finals experience.
Finals Feast Thursday, December 18
First, the annual celebration of Finals Feast will be taking place Thursday morning (December 18th) at 7:45. We encourage all high school students to arrive before school begins and join the parents and staff for some holiday cheer. Finals Feast will be in the cafeteria Thursday morning from 7:45 to 8:20. We could still use a few more volunteers to feed the crowd that day. If you are able to help, please sign up HERE.
HS Ice Skating Trip Friday, December 19
Next, after finals are over, the high school will be ice skating on Friday after school. We will leave the campus at 2:30 and should return before 5:00. We will be skating at the Carmel Ice Skadium. Cost is $10.25 ($7.25 admittance fee and $3.00 skate rental fee). Concessions are available at the venue. TPCA will be providing transportation. Students are encouraged to sport their favorite Christmas apparel. Hope to see you all there!

SGO Giving - and Receiving – Opportunity
Did you know that a gift to our SGO Scholarship fund entitles you to 50% - 85% off your gift (depending on your tax bracket)! This applies to both individuals AND businesses!
Every year Indiana allocates $7.5 million in tax credits for SGOs to offer individuals and businesses as an INCENTIVE to fund scholarships. This allows Indiana to GIVE YOU BACK 50% OF YOUR GIFT! However, this is not all. A gift to Traders Point Christian Academy’s SGO Scholarship fund entitles you to a 50% state tax credit PLUS federal deduction.* (See example.) This makes up the remaining potential savings.
This is a “no-brainer” for those with tax liability, giving you the opportunity to give a substantial gift to the school and even pay less than you owe already for state taxes. For example, let’s say you owe the state $1,500. If you give a gift for $3,000 (double what you owe), you receive $1,500 back in state tax CREDIT. Your out of pocket is STILL only $1,500, but TPCA gets your $3,000 gift! It doesn’t cost you a penny more; in fact, with the additional federal deduction*, you will ultimately pay less than $1,500 because you gave! With this opportunity, you owe less in taxes and the students in our school receive an education that will impact them for eternity!

SCRIP- Shop to Earn Cash Back for Tuition!
Don't forget to use your Scrip card orders for Christmas! Our last two orders before Christmas will be placed Monday, December 8th and Monday, December 15th. With scrip fundraising, families can easily earn cash for tuition for their own children (80%) and for the school (20%) while they shop.
Scrip is simple. Order gift cards, e-cards, reloadable or printable certificates for many places at which you shop, dine and play already and a percentage of what you spend comes right back to you as a credit on your student account. Simply use scrip gift cards for everyday purchases, and earn a rebate on each one at no additional cost.
Scrip is much easier than in the past. Families will purchase all orders online – no checks, no submitting order forms to the school -- and your cards/certificates are available either instantly for print, redemption on your Smartphone, or as reloadable gift cards. For more information, visit the Scrip website at www.shopwithscrip.com.
To sign up you will need our Traders Point enrollment code. However, we are unable to publicly publish our enrollment code for security reasons. Please email tpcascrip@gmail.com for this code and further directions.
We pray this will be a blessing to all of our Traders Point families!
Important News … We’re Starting FRESH!
The Marsh Fresh Ideas for Education program has been in existence for over nine years. During that time thousands of shoppers have registered their Fresh IDEA, OMalia’s CouponPLUS and MainStreet Market Reward$ card and many of those cards have been lost, shoppers have moved away and children have moved on to other schools or graduated.
In order for the program to more accurately and fairly represent the efforts of active schools Marsh is requiring all card holders re-enroll for the 2014-2015 program in order to continue to earn credit for Traders Point Christian Academy. Card holders may begin enrolling & re-enrolling their cards to support our school now. The link is http://www.freshideasforeducation.com/cards/ Our school code is: 28886.
Each time you shop with your Fresh Ideas Card you earn points for Traders Point. We use these points to order equipment and supplies at the end of the year. It is a convenient and simple way to support our school. Thank you for taking a minute to sign up!
So far we have had only 15 shoppers sign up. It's quick and easy – just click on the link, enter your Fresh Ideas card number, and indicate Traders Point. Thank you!
