AEB Finishes the Season Strong!

AEB Finishes the Season Strong!

On Saturday, 11/4, AEB competed at the USBands REMO Series Finale in Round Rock.


In preliminary competition, the Akins Band was ranked 3rd overall (out of 19) and won Outstanding Visual in Class IV!


In finals competition, AEB took home the 4th place trophy!


Congratulations to everyone that made this great season a reality!

AEB Full Band Pictures

Monday, Nov. 6th, 5-8pm

Austin, TX

All AEB students are required to be present for our formal photographs. We will take a group photo as well as individual and section photos.


Students will wear our formal marching uniforms.


These photos (and other items with the images) are available for sale. Order forms are in the band hall and will be made available online soon.

Wind Symphony Fall Concert

Tuesday, Nov. 7th, 7:30-8:30pm

All members of the Akins Band are required to attend this fall concert presented by the Akins Wind Symphony.


Parents and families are encouraged to attend for a fun evening of music!


We will fit all Wind Symphony students for tuxedos and dresses on Monday (and Tuesday if needed.)


Wind Symphony students will meet in the auditorium, fully dressed, at 6:30pm.

TMEA All-Region Orchestra Auditions

Saturday, Nov. 11th, 9:30am-1pm

The is event is only for students who have already signed up to audition.


Students auditioning should arrive at Anderson HS by 9:30am to check in for the audition. Students are responsible for securing their own ride to and from Anderson HS.


Audition entry is $10, if you haven't made that payment yet, please deposit $10 in the Band Hall safe ASAP.

Butter Braid Orders Past Due

If you have any orders for Butter Braids, please turn them in immediately so we can make the delivery date of 11/16!


If you still want to sell some...do it now and bring the orders and money in! Everything will be submitted by this Wednesday.

Remember to Make Your Payment Plan Payments

If you setup a payment plan on shopping day, please make sure that you stay on top of your agreement. Our program cannot function if everyone does not take care of their financial obligations.

Earn Money for Your Band Fees, Trip Payments, and Lessons

Did you know that you can work shifts at the UT Erwin Center to earn money for your fees, trip payments, and lessons? Each shift pays $35 to $75 per person depending on the event and business.


There are always shifts available and we are already needing people to work!
