Developing Skilled Basketball Players to be Successful
Summer Basketball
A great coach once said, "there's nothing like developing a team." In the Raymore-Peculiar basketball program, we work hard to develop our young men. We use every opportunity lean in a bit more to our mission statement, "Developing Skilled Basketball Players to be Successful." Our players pride themselves in trying to be young men who use Hard work, Integrity, and Teamwork (H.I.T.) to live out our mission. Every practice, workout, BLT meeting, or weight session has a component of our mission woven into the fabric of who we are as a program. We have had a great summer and look forward to the growth of our young men in our program.
Basketball Leadership Team
Tucker Miller, Myles Sutton, and Rylan Teale have been tasked with continuing the traditions of the Ray-Pec basketball program. Every workout has a segment where the BLT members will meet with the players in groups to discuss ways to improve as young men. As the individual players improve as young men, this aids the process of being a united team in the basketball season.
More than Basketball
We encourage and take every opportunity to bring our players together outside of the gym. These pictures are from the miniature golf course while attending a tournament in Branson.
Weight Room
Our players take a lot of pride in the weight room. Every day you can count on them yelling words of encouragement to their teammates as they push their body's to become stronger.
Summer School
Monday through Thursday all summer you will find our players working on their speed, agility, leadership, strength, and skills of the game of basketball. This summer marks the highest number of basketball players that attended the summer workouts. We are so proud of their commitment to their program, school, and community.
Summer Camp
We held camp for our Kindergarten-8th grade students in the district. It was great to see a gym full of future Panthers. We had an outstanding summer developing our young men in our summer camps. Our future is reliant on our young players continuing to develop their skills. Our current players and coaches are valuable assets in this process.
Traveling Team Camp
For the last 7 years, we have taken a group of young men on a Traveling Team Camp. They take time away from their day to day lives for a couple of days so they can invest in one another, learn about themselves, and set goals for the upcoming season. This event is not without some friendly competition and fun moments.
Marines Physical Training
We partner with our local Marines to test the physical and mental abilities of our players. The Marines lead our players in the same Physical Training test they ask of their teams. Our players enjoy the challenge and cheering their teammates on as they push themselves to be their best.
Special Speakers
We had several different speakers visit with our players this summer. These speakers encourage our players to be a part of a team. Teams accomplish much more than individuals and the journey to success is more enjoyable. The speakers have had an outstanding experience that brings a unique perspective for our players to learn from as they enter into their upcoming season.
Celebrating Birthdays Together
Myles Sutton's mom treated the players to some treats in honor of Myles' birthday. Our team enjoyed the treats as well as the singing lesson.
