Miss Galloway's Kinder Kids
All About Me
Hi Parents!! My name is Miss Galloway, and I will be your child's kindergarten teacher. I am so very excited to be able to teach and watch your child grow. I am a first year teacher, but have worked with preschoolers for the past three years. I was a Children's Librarian at the Mont Belvieu Library before moving to Barbers Hill Kindergarten Center.
I look forward to getting to know your kiddos this year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.

Expectations
My goal this year is to provide your children with a positive, exciting environment. I want children to feel like they are in a safe place to learn. We will be conquering some big steps, such as writing letters, reading, and learning how to behave at school. I'm looking forward to a great year!
Funtime with Painting
This first week I wanted to give the students an opportunity to foster their creativity. They were given four tubs with different color paints; then, they were told to paint their favorite things. I was so excited to get to know your child through such a fun experience. I have never seen so many ballet tutu's, footballs, and fishing rods! We are sure enjoying our first week of school!
Storytime!
Today we had the county children's librarian come to the classroom and read to the kids. They loved it so much! The county librarian, Miss Shelbey, was very joyful and continued to engage the students. They learned how many books they could check out and all the adventures of the library. Miss Shelbey taught them that books aren't bad, and reading is fun!
Science Experiments
This past week we have been learning about the transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly. The students have done multiple activities involving this process. I'm sure the parents have seen all of these papers coming home. Today we received the caterpillars that will be our classroom pet. They will go into their cocoon in the next couple of weeks. We are excited to see what pretty color butterflies they create!
