Welcome to the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary & St Matthew
If we long to uncover the path, learn the wisdom, and acquire the disposition of heart required to follow Jesus, we have but to look to one expert — Mary, his mother. By contemplating her principle virtues, actions, and devotion, we can reach unparalleled heights of faith.

“Kua hinga he totara i te wao nui a Tane.
A totara has fallen in the forest of Tane.”
It is with deep sadness that we share with our whānau the news that Mrs Eilleen Stobie passed away last Friday evening.
Mrs Stobie had been unwell for some time and had retired earlier this year, as Deputy Principal.
A Wahine Toa of great integrity, Mrs Stobie was our companion, teacher, mentor and colleague, who taught us all what it meant to embrace each day and live it well...me aro ki te hā o Hineahuone.
Eilleen will be taken home to her papa kāinga in Ōtaua this week, by whānau.
May her tīpuna embrace her as she returns home,
May the angels lead her to paradise,
May she find welcome within God’s dwelling-place, until we meet again.
