Device/Materials Pick-Up for All Virtual Students!
Students who chose "Option 2" or "Option 3" virtual models for the fall semester will need to come to NPE to pick up all of the materials they will need to ensure they have a successful virtual learning adventure from home! This includes checking out a device (an ipad for grades PreK and K or laptops for students grades 1-5 ) that will remain with the student for the entire year. The pick-up schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, August 25th
9:00 AM- 11:00 AM & 1:00 PM-3:00 PM
Thursday, August 27th
12:30 PM-3:00 PM
You may come any time during the days and hours listed above. We ask that you pull up through our car drop-off/pick-up line area and stay in your vehicle. We will have several staff members available to assist you. While staff are retrieving all of the items to deliver back to your car, we will provide you with a clipboard and a few forms that we are asking be filled out and returned to us while you are waiting. We have a great system in place, but please be patient as we make sure everyone receives their items.
NOTE: Students who are returning to campus for the fall (Option 1) will receive their devices and materials from their classroom teacher when they return to school on August 31st.
I Know What You Look Like Now!
PreK/Kindergarten Round-Up/Meet the Teacher!
NPE knows that most of our PreK and Kindergarten students are new to our school and we want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible when students come back on Monday, August 31st. CCPS is allowing us to host a PreK/Kindergarten “Round-Up” with some variations to our typical Round-up and a few added safety precautions.
1. All PreK and K students, along with their parents, will be invited into the school for a 15 minute scheduled time period on THURSDAY, AUGUST 27TH FROM 8AM-11:30am.
· All visitors will need to have a mask on at all times.
· Visits will include a short tour of the school so students can see
· their classroom
· the related arts rooms
· the café
· the recess areas
· the media center and
· the main office area.
2. Classroom teachers will call families to set up the 15 minute appointment with your child’s teacher.
3. PreK and Kindergarten students will receive special grade level t-shirt that we would like them to wear on the first day of school so we can easily see what grade they are in (this makes things smoother for everyone). We have a picture with this article. Please try to pick this up beforehand.
4. Parents will be asked to verify contact information and will also need to let teachers know what your child’s everyday dismissal plan will be.
We do understand that some of you may not want to come to the PreK/Kindergarten Round-Up. Every teacher in the building will be hosting a Virtual Open House some time on Friday morning. Your child’s teacher will let you know when that is and how to join. We will also have a quick presentation online that will give families the safety precautions/changes we have made here at NPE as well as quick video clips of all professional staff so students can see faces beforehand. The link to this presentation will be emailed/text out to all families some time the week of August 24th.
School Supply List
We are sure students will want to bring a refillable water bottle to school each day. We have 5 refilling stations throughout the building.

Remember, MASKS are REQUIRED!
All students and staff will be expected to wear a face covering on school campus. Students may wear their own face coverings/masks from home, but will also be provided 2 green coverings from CCPS.
Please note, if your child does not wear a mask to school, NPE will provide a disposable mask before your child is able to enter the building.
Please have your child practice wearing his/her mask at home for an extended time period, it will make the transition of wearing a mask all day at school a little easier.

REMEMBER: THE CELL PHONE LAW IS STILL IN EFFECT!
A new state law made texting while driving a primary offense as of July 1, 2019. ... The second part of the law takes that a step further, making it illegal to use a handheld cell phone while driving in a designated school crossing, school zone or active work zone area.
**Please remember this includes the drop off and pick up lines. We want to make sure all of our students and staff are safe when loading and unloading each day.
