From the Principal's Desk

MCAP makeups need to be completed by Friday January 20th for English 10 and Algebra I, II, and Geometry. This is a graduation requirement. The end of the first semester is only a week away. Please make sure you have turned in all your work to earn the credits.
Please feel free to reach out to teachers, guidance counselors and administration anytime we can assist you or answer a question.

Scam Alert
Recently, an employee and the parent of a junior reported receiving a phone call from a company called "College Support". The man was calling about (her child) at (school) who had just signed up for the College Board SAT at school. The man knew her home address and wanted to send SAT practice, which would be free unless the SAT practice packet was not returned in 30 days. When she told him she worked for the school system and asked how he got the personal information, he hung up. If the call had continued, no doubt he would have asked for credit card information.
Please be aware - we do not share student information with businesses, so calls like this are not legitimate. If you are ever in doubt about this type of offer, please call the school counselors. If your child needs assistance with SAT prep, their counselor can provide free resources.
Inclement Weather Day Plan for Students
The Maryland Department of Education is allowing districts to use three (3) asynchronous inclement weather days as virtual learning days. This limits the number of days that would normally have to be added on to the end of the school year.
Elementary: Folders with brief Math and/or English Language Arts assignments will be sent home in preparation for an inclement weather day. Internet/Wi-Fi will not be required to complete assignments. Assignments will be due shortly after school is back in session and will count as attendance for the virtual day.
Secondary: Students will be able to access their assignments offline without the need for Internet/Wi-Fi access using their school-issued device. Assignments will be brief and a review of material already covered in the classroom. Work will be due shortly after school is back in session and will count as attendance for the virtual day.
