The App Generation
Eddie Fischer
Chapter 4 Personal Identity in the Age of the App
The text discusses different ways that technology either shapes individuals, how they portray themselves, and how youth's images can be hidden behind a screen. I myself think of more just the app generation and how young adults can connect with other people over the world through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and SnapChat. But also how young adults can connect with people all over the world through video games whether it be through PCs, Xbox, or Play Station. These young adults are connecting and communicating with people that are worlds away.

Chapter 5 Apps and Intimate Relationships
I think in chapter 5 it discusses many relevant topics that have evolved over the past 10 to 20 years. I relate to this strongly because I feel that at my age I went through the technology shifts. I can remember as a kid you would call everyone on the phone, and if you did not have the phone number written down or if the number got thrown in the garbage then it was like that person was lost forever if they didn't live close enough to walk over to their house. Nowadays people will just tweet or post on Facebook that they've lost all of their contacts and people should message them with their number in order to still be in contact.
Chapter 5 Apps and Intimate Relationships Continued.........
After reading chapter 5 it also brings into perspective how conversations with other peers, and the society in general has changed as well. Text refers to relationships with other people. I feel as if 10 years ago I would have been on the phone until 2 a.m. talking to a crush for the past 4 hours. Now people are lucky to be in conversation over the phone for more than 1 minute. More so people are more likely to text a conversation between another person than to communicate in person.
Chapter 6 Acts (And Apps) of Imagination
During reading chapter 6 I really just started to imagine the possibilities that have arose from the apps that allow people to alter, change, and create new images or videos through the use of apps. People post fake pictures, videos, or other imaginary and portray it as real. There has also been the explosion of people's personal lives being exposed on social media with alterations through the use of apps. 10 to 20 years ago I don't believe that people would have imagined the possibilities that people are able to do through the use of apps.
