About the author
Christopher Paolini is the fantasy author of the Inheritance Cycle, which consists of the books Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance. These books have won numerous awards including topping the charts of the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestsellers lists. The Guinness World Records also recognized Christopher Paolini as the “youngest author of a bestselling book series” on January 5, 2011. He was 15 when he finished writing his first draft of Eragon.
Summary
Fifteen year old Eragon is a simple farm boy. When he went hunting to get meat for the winter, he finds a strange blue stone and takes it home. A few months later, the stone turned out to be a dragon egg and Eragon was its rider. Not wanting to bring danger to his family and village, he runs away with his dragon and Brom the storyteller. Eragon goes on many adventures and fights for the greater good.

Brom the story teller
He goes with Eragon and Saphira on their adventures. On the way, he teaches Eragon how to sword fighting, use magic, ancient history, about dragons, the elf's, and the dwarfs.
Eragon and Saphira
They are the lead characters. Without these two, the adventure wouldn't be possible.
Murtagh
He joins the adventure later on in the book and helps out when he can.

Alagaesia
Alagaesia is where the adventure takes place. In the land a great civil war is going on between the Empire and the Varden. The Empire is ruled by Galbatorix, a dictating king. The Varden is ruled by Ajihad, a man who wishes for the land to be free of the Empire's rule.
