Mini Grits And Greens
1 cup chicken broth 1/3 cup half-and-half 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup uncooked regular grits 1/2 cup (2 oz.) freshly shredded Cheddar cheese 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese 1 tablespoon butter 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 8 large fresh collard green leaves 2 small dry Spanish chorizo sausage links (about 2 3/4 oz.) 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Martini
There is some argument as to where specifically the martini was first invented, but every single story leads back to somewhere in the Bay Area around the end of the nineteenth century. The protagonist Dave grew up in the San Francisco as well.Many people say that the drink was named after Martinez, California, a city in the upper East Bay where the drink is thought to have originated.
Ingredients:
Dry Vermouth
2 ounces gin, chilled

Pour a little bit of dry vermouth in a chilled martini glass and swirl to coat the inside of the glass. Dispose of excess vermouth. In a shaker full of ice, gently swirl or stir the gin before straining into glass.Spicy Pakistani Zucchini
Directions Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat; saute onion until golden (about 5 minutes). We chose this dish because many Pakistani dishes are spicy with vegetables. Malala Yousafzai is from Swat Valley, Pakistan, and grew up with her mother making many spicy dishes with vegetables.
Chocolate Truffle Cake
Ingredients:
2-½ cups 2% milk
1 cup cubed butter
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
3 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
2-⅔ cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon of baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
Filling:
6 tablespoons butter, cubed
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2-½ cups confectioners sugar
½ cup heavy whipping cream
Ganache:
10 ounces of semisweet chocolate, chopped
⅔ cup heavy whipping cream
This dish was chosen because Anne Frank lives in a room behind a bookcase for an extended period of time and resources are limited, a dessert like this would be an excellent way to break from the constant bad life style.
