CES Parent Update

Week of September 19

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of the month, please note we will be conducting parent-teacher conferences throughout the month of October. Please make every attempt to schedule a conference with your child's teacher(s) if you have not done so already. This is a great opportunity to hear about the areas in which you child excels and share any concerns or ask any questions you may have. We love having your ear, if only briefly, to brag about your children.

Additionally, one of our campus goals this year is to increase our attendance rate. Attendance is directly correlated to a student's academic and social emotional growth. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding the ways we will recognize and celebrate students for arriving to school on time and staying the entire day. Thank you for your assistance in reinforcing the value of attending school and prioritizing your child's education- these are important habits to establish early on.

Have a wonderful week, Creekview!

~Allyson Jordan, Principal

Action Items

  • PM CAR RIDER REMINDER- do not block parking lot entrance in the afternoon. This poses a safety concern as emergency vehicles can not pass. Please extend courtesy to our front of the car rider line winners by allowing them to get by safely. We will begin asking you to vacate the line and go to the end of the car rider line if you are blocking this entrance.
  • If your child has borrowed clothing from the clinic, please remember to return those clothes washed to Nurse Bennett. If you have any clothing you are wanting to donate, she is in need of boys shorts in all sizes. Thank you!
  • Membership Toolkit Drive ends Thursday- which class will make it to 100% first earning an extra recess? Join PTO's Membership Toolkit Website Now!

Peanut Butter Drive Begins!

Thank you so much for participating in this year's Peanut Butter Drive! This includes sun butter, almond butter, cashew butter, etc. This great initiative helps so many people. September is Hunger Action Month, which is recognized nationwide. The country teams up with Feeding America and food pantries across the country to raise awareness of hunger that exists in the US. Even though we might not see those who struggle with food insecurity, it DOES exist in our community, in our neighborhoods, in our county and in our school district. Approximately 24% of children in Harris County are food insecure.

What is so tremendous is the response we get from our families and young heroes who want to help! For children, it is sometimes difficult to recognize how to make a difference and help someone, but if you let them know how they can make that difference, they rise to the challenge.

CES is again teaming up with The Cheesecake Factory and they will award the class that brings in the most peanut butter with a slider and fries party (or something similar).

Last year, CES made a huge contribution and was able to feed thousands of people and the peanut butter collected by our students went to ten different food banks in our community. Hopefully, this year we can have a bigger impact! Thank you in advance for your help in serving our community!
