Staff Wellness and Keeping Spirits Bright...

The Sunshine committee and staff have decided to host a once a month luncheon/ snack table for staff to help show appreciation for one another and lift our spirits in these complex times. Different grade level teams have signed up to host a particular month.

Many thanks to the amazing fifth grade teachers and team for the fabulous food/snacks for staff this month, and a special thank you to our fifth grade students who surprised us with these amazing decorations that brought huge smiles to our faces.

Relationships, connections, and showing appreciation for one another is always helpful; and right now it is critical to let everyone know we are all working 110%, doing the best we can, and continuing to keep students at the forefront of our decisions and actions. None of us could do these past 2 years alone. We want to thank parents, students, staff, and the community for contributing to RMCS in so many unique ways.

While tired, sometimes frustrated with the restrictions, and even having moments of being overwhelmed with the balance of home lives, work lives, and the pandemic, we continue to care for one another and move forward together daily in our SB Community.

With appreciation for your patience and grace,

Principal Kilbourne

On Friday morning, students will arrive at school to see a large chain link hanging from the halls, representing each student as an individual and the school. Please help us in celebrating our wonderful school community by having your child where their corresponding grade level color to school on Friday 12/10.

School Nurse Updates

Home Antigen Testing:

Please report to the health department, a positive result from a self-test, or an at-home test. Fill out the Vermont COVID-19 Self-Test Result Reporting Form. Please also let your school nurse know of the positive test.

While we are providing antigen testing in our Test to Stay program, per state guidelines we do not accept antigen/rapid test results for a student to return to school, when the student has COVID-19 symptoms. Please continue to follow-up with your student's health care provider and obtain a PCR test if indicated.

Test To Stay (TTS):

Unvaccinated, asymptomatic students (ages 5 and up) and staff, who are identified as close contacts to an in-school COVID-19 exposure, are eligible to participate in TTS. Click HERE to view some TTS Frequently Asked Questions.

Please give consent and permission ahead of time by clicking on the links. If you need assistance, please call the school's main office.

Contact Tracing:

If you test positive for COVID-19, the health department is requesting that you isolate from other people and notify any close contacts immediately. Contact tracers are prioritizing who they call, so you may not receive a phone call. Visit this page, at the Vermont Department of Health, for detailed instructions.

Isolate--immediately notify close contacts--inform your health care provider
