Staff Weekly
January 3, 2020
Thank you for warmly welcoming our students back from winter break. As we move further into the month, highlight our PBS STARS monthly theme: Solve Problems Peacefully. January is the perfect time to review what it means to be a problem solver. Integrate a quick review of this column heading in our matrix during morning meetings, or when it fits your schedule best. And, we LOVE hearing about terrific problem solvers. Please share your stories with us. Happy January and Happy New Year! Jen and Christine
Better Than Carrots or Sticks
Our book club will be getting started soon. Books were distributed prior to Winter Break. If you are joining us, please read chapter one prior to our first meeting on Wednesday, January 15th. There are a limited amount of books still available - it's not too late to join us! This is a quick study - 6 chapters, 6 sessions.
The Manner Banner returns to PVS!
We are happy to announce the return of the Manner Banner. At the end of the month, all staff who do not have a homeroom, are invited to vote for the class with the best manners in January. Voting staff includes all main and health office staff, general aides, special area teachers, day and evening custodial staff (yep - good manners means we clean up after ourselves), therapists, cafeteria staff, etc. The winning class earns an extra twenty minutes of free play time supervised by Jen and Christine, and a treat. We'll announce January's winners on the 31st and ask all available voting staff to join us with your hurrahs and noisemakers as we parade to the winning homeroom.
