10 March 2023
Hello Kipling Families,
Happy Friday and Hakuna Matata! This morning our entire school was treated to the wonderful production of The Lion King. Our 3rd-5th graders had roles on, in front of, and behind the stage and they were absolutely incredible. I know tonight and tomorrow’s performances are going to be equally as good. Thank you to all the parents, park district staff, and teachers who helped support our students as they made this production a reality. A special thank you to Ms. Brynda and Mr. OBrill for all of your leadership.
March is here and with it comes so much hope. March is my favorite month. Hopefully, this winter weather will soon be behind us. The official spring season and Spring Break are only a couple weeks away. Hopeful NCAA fans are feverishly filling out their brackets for March Madness (Go, Hawkeyes!). And most importantly, the third trimester of our school year has arrived. In this final trimester, we are filled with hope about the potential our students and staff have to meet their goals.
As a school community, let’s embrace this time and partner together to work toward our collective goals and celebrate all the growth our students will achieve by the end of the school year.
All my best to you and your families over the weekend!
Respectfully,
Mr. Matthew O. Lombardo, NBCT

5 Essentials Survey - We Need at Least 20% Parent Participation to Generate a Report. We are Currently at a 15% Completion Rate (WE ARE ALMOST THERE!).
Help us get important feedback about our school! You only have a short time left to take the 5Essentials Parent Survey. Please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey to begin. Your identity and responses will be kept completely confidential and will not be connected to you or your child. The survey should take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete.
IAR Testing
Students across the district in grades 3 through 8 will be participating in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) in English/Language Arts & Mathematics between April 3rd and April 24th.
This state assessment helps us understand how students are growing academically year to year, while also providing an achievement comparison to grade-level peers across the state. By measuring both mastery of the Illinois Learning Standards and the College and Career Ready benchmarks of the PSAT and SAT, the IAR is also designed to help prepare students for success in high school and beyond. The overall performance of each school, by grade, also impacts our designation, which is reported on the Illinois School Report Card.
