Coaching Tips
Weekly Coaching Tips from Bray
Tip #1 for Engaging Students...
When fun events such as the Dress Up Days come around, participate. AND get your students to do the same. Create a class challenge with another teacher...whichever class wins the challenge that period gets some Silly Sports or Goofy Games time!
Having fun with your students and an easy way to continue to build relationships and will translate into your classroom! Smile LOTS!
Tip #2 for Engaging Students...
Next week 70+ Moorhead students will walk to their mailboxes and receive a postcard from one of you. It makes a difference! YOU make the difference!
Personal story:
Every month I would choose 6 students and send out a postcard or letter. Sometimes the kids would come to school with the letter and show me; other times I would hear nothing about the card.
I ran into a student's parent out shopping and she told me that this student placed the card on his nightstand and 2 years later it remained. It was the only piece of mail he had ever received.
Want to do write more than one student a postcard?
You can pick them up at any school supply store. Currently stamps for postcards are $0.35.
You engage students when they know you care.
