On Eagles Wings: 5-301 Newsletter

Views from the Fifth Grade

Hello parents of ICS 5-301 and the soaring Eagles! My name is Mr. Ronan, and I will be your fifth grade ELA, Social Studies, and Religion teacher for the 2016-17 school year! This is is my first year teaching at Immaculate Conception School, after a few stops at Let's Get Ready in Stamford, CT, Rise Up Academy in South Bend, Indiana, and St. Andrews' Primary School in Jinja, Uganda.

I received my Bachelors degree from the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!) in political science and peace studies, with a minor in theology. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Education from Notre Dame, as a Remick Teaching Fellow in the Alliance for Catholic Education.

I am a die hard Notre Dame football fan, as well as a supporter of the New York Mets, European futbol, and the Broadway musical, Hamilton. I enjoy long-distance running, performing, and playing the guitar and taking lead vocals in my acoustic jam band, Grundy. I am truly excited to learn and walk with you through the academic year, together. If there is anything I would like my students to learn this year, it is this: God is love!

I invite you to join us for Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30 pm. The 5th Grade team of myself, Ms. Pobric, and Mr. S are excited to meet you and embark on our journey!

¡Bienvenido a 5-301!
